Agii Apostoli

The beach is named for the “Holy Saints” church on the hill and overlooks the beach. Beaches are on either side of a peninsula that a road goes down the center, and at the end of this road is where you’ll find the hill that the church sits on top of. We explored the church first thing when we arrived, it’s a small building, but it has a fantastic view of the sea and the beach below. On the hill along with the church, is a small wooded area with a nice trail for a quick walk. It wasn’t jam-packed the day we went, but we arrived early and on a weekday. The water here is calm, sheltered from the wind, and the water is clean and clear. While enjoying the nice day and warm water,  we noticed some small fish swimming around us. Occasionally we would feel these fish nibbling on our legs. Locals had told us that these fish are common at this beach. No need to go to the spa now. There is a cafe nearby that sells drinks and snacks. And there are changing stations and showers here too. We took a cab from the city center for 10 €, and it is possible to take a bus here from Chania too.

Know Before You Go:

  • A taxi from Chania should be about 10€ or less, this beach can also be reached by bus.

  • There are a few beaches here to choose from, they are all beautiful.

  • And don’t forget to check out the view from up on the hill by the church.
