Kedrodasas

6-26-2022

This beach ranks high on my personal list of beaches to visit, Elafonisi is impressive, but I think one visit is enough. If I lived here, Kedrodasas would be the beach my go-to beach. We were out with friends the previous night enjoying some Cretan beers in Chania, and a couple of people had highly recommended this beach. It’s only a fifteen-minute drive from Elafonisi and it is far less crowded.

You’ll take a dirt road to get there and on the way, you’ll pass some greenhouses and plenty of goats. After parking, the beach will be below you down the hill, the view of the beach is remarkable. The sea stretches out with endless shades of turquoise. The walk down the trail to the beach is easy and short. The beach is dotted with trees and these trees make the perfect spots to rest under and find shelter from the sun. The beach is split into two halves. The first half anyone can enjoy, but the second half is clothing optional, everyone is welcome, but if you’re squeamish to nudity, then the first half of the beach is maybe the better half. I didn’t see any pink sand here, but I’ve heard it is possible to find it here too.

Know Before You Go:

  • To get to the beach there is a hill that you’ll have to walk, but it is not a steep trail down, and going back up is not difficult

  • The far left side of the beach is clothing optional
